Getting to a place in life that feels scary, overwhelming, boring, or uncharted is difficult and normal. Finding ways or motivation to change what’s not working may feel impossible. These phases can lead to feelings of self-doubt, anger, fear, or helplessness. It may be difficult to feel connected to others or even yourself during these times. Acknowledging that things feel out of control or bigger than you feel equipped to work through on your own takes courage and humility. The truth, however, is that we are wired for connection and it is in relationship that healing takes place.
The act of seeking out and connecting to therapy may feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, scary or relieving depending on your previous experience with the process. The idea of sharing your story, especially when the story may not currently reflect your best self, can elicit feelings of embarrassment or shame. Moving through this and taking the risk or reaching out for support is a courageous step towards positive change. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are returning to the process, I invite you to call me for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or to schedule your first appointment.
